On Thursday, September 8, at Princess Manor, the first general meeting of the Marie Sklodowska Professional Women’ s Association took place. Here are most of the attendees, some had to leave early.
Rozpoczynamy nowy rok działania. Witamy nowe członkinie.
Dear Thomas. Thank you, and Regina so much for bringing your Mom to our 25th anniversary celebration. I am sending you photos that my husband took, as well as other friends – many different angles. We were proud, and happy to be able to honor Irene Krulewski, our founder. She looks wonderful, and we were delighted that she was able to attend.Great seeing you, and thank you, and your brother, and sister for supporting the Marie Sklodowska Curie Professional Women’s Association. It’s quite a legacy. Looking forward to seeing you at our events, once the pandemic is over. We hope you had a nice day. The weather miraculously cooperated, and I heard that thanks to Ewa’s friends, you were able to see the chapels, and the grounds, and the cemetery of the Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine.Yours truly,Maria Bielska,President of the MSCPWA and membersPS I include the tribute that was read at the presentation of the plaque. The name of the priest who blessed it is Father Bartlomiej Marciniak, a scout chaplain.*********************************************************************************************************************Congratulations and expressions of thanks to Irene Krulewski as we join the celebration virtually in recognition of her dedication to advancing the ideals, values and determined spirit of Marie Sklodowska Curie, who challenged and overcame economic and social obstacles and the educational restrictions imposed by powerful neighbors during their occupation of Poland over many decades. Fluctuating national borders and the suppression of rights for Poles were issues when Marie began her journey from working as a Nanny to being the first woman to receive Nobel Prizes in Chemistry and Physics.
We are proud to honor you and to support Marie’s memory through our continued participation in activities that raise awareness of her struggles and achievements and to assist other women to fulfill their dreams
Christine B. Lukasik Kuskowski, MSCPWA Scholarship Committee Chair and Members, ret.
The Dedication of Our 25th Anniversary Plaque at the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa
There will be a special get together on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021
in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, at the Our Lady of Czestochowa National Shrine.
Address: 654 Ferry Road, Doylestown, PA 18901
Mass at 10:00 am in the main basilica.
Following the Mass there will be a small ceremony of dedication of the plaque in the church vestibule to the right of the main altar, on the side of the Pilgrim House.
There is an elevator to the main Church, on the right side as you face the church, if you park in front of the Basilica. You can walk to the Basilica from a parking lot on the side of the Pilgrim House, or from the cafeteria, to the side entrance, without using the stairs.
We expect that Irene Krulewski will come with her family.
This is a surprise for her, so please do NOT contact her !!!
It would be very nice if as many members as possible could attend.
If you would like to come:
1/ you must let me know by this Saturday, October 23rd, because we are ordering lunch to follow the blessing ceremony.
( email: mary.c.bielski@gmail.com or text: 917 771 7130 )
2/let us know if you need a ride. Several of us are taking our cars.
If you have loved ones buried in the Shrine Cemetery, after lunch you can visit the graves, or just walk around to see the different beautiful monuments, and the small chapel. School children and scouts will be doing their annual cleaning, and decorating the graves of the veterans. There will be a laying of the wreaths ceremony for the veterans at the monument of the Husarz, the Avenging Angel, around 2 pm, but you do not have to attend that. On Sunday, the Pauline Fathers expect large crowds to attend the annual All Soul’s Day celebrations. It will be much less crowded on Saturday.
Note: Masks are not required inside or outside in Pennsylvania.
Please join us to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our association.
It is truly a milestone! We are not having our annual dinner dance, so that this will be the only opportunity to get together in the fall.
Yours truly,
Maria Bielska, President
Marie Sklodowska Curie Professional Women’s Association
P.S. If you cannot come, I would still appreciate a response, so that I know you are still a part of our association. You may also want to add your name and good wishes to a card for Irene, which we plan to give her with a bouquet of flowers at the dedication.
ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS
